Dreamers, I see you.
I am a dreamer. I have so many dreams, some might say too many. But, I won’t give up on them. I bet you have plenty of dreams too and yet perhaps you have stuffed them away because they’ve been batted to the ground by others who “bring you back to reality”. Well, I’m here to tell you that too much reality is soul sucking for dreamers.
Dreamers, I see you. Don’t ever stop dreaming because we need you. We need us.
Dreams are hope. Dreams are goals. Dreams are visions for a better future. Dreams are tangible move-forwards that we can always be working towards. Change is founded upon dreams.
So, go dream.
Dream for peace, dream for that fancy car, dream for honest real love, dream for that job in Paris, that cabin in the mountains, quality time with family, or for time building castles in the sand.
They are all valid. Don’t let anyone take them away. Dreams are power, the source of our energy.
And what do I say to the realists?
I say, ‘it’s ok that you are you’. You too have a purpose. We need you but please don’t be too hard on the dreamers. Understand our value and place in this world and that, without us, change moves more slowly. If you spend too much time blowing out our light, you too won’t be able to see.
We need one another, the dreamers and the realists. It’s a give and take. It’s about growth and learning on each side.
Let the dreamers bloom and do what they do best. Realists, protect us from getting burned by the sun but let us get close enough so that we can shine a light on all the possibilities —possibilities for creativity, invention, for turning the impossible into possible and the miracle of living a great life in a great world.
Dream on, dreamers. I see you.
